I started the computer and it was uptime like 10 minutes when this occurred. I looked at some photos, and this is what happens.

I made a new folder, renamed it, and vista went into a "pointer is thinking" mode for TWO MINUTES, I kid you not, _just because_ I renamed a blank folder.

No wait, "windows explorer is not responding" is the problem, well, I waited 3 minutes to find out, and ONLY found out because I waited, then decided to try doing something else while waiting. I mean, I could have just kept waiting, thinking this is some NEW WONDERFUL _FEATURE__ checking into something or another.

I went to the start menu and clicked on it, and this is what happened.

Oh wait, this STINKING PILE OF SHIT gave me 3 options:

1) Check for a solution and restart the program
2) Close the program
3) Wait for the program to respond

Under "details" it says

"A problem caused this program to stop interacting with windows.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
Application Name: Explorer.EXE"

This is brand name HW, with the official vista install, from day one of it coming from the store.

So, IF I WANT TO USE THE START MENU when "exploerer.EXE" is stuck and I _CAN'T_, WHERE IS THE GOD DAMN "MULTI-TASKING" win-dross promises?????????????????

What a STINKING PILE OF SHIT win-dross is!!!!!!!

In vista, when I'm in the browser history, and I pick "delete" to erase a webpage visited, AND IT DOESN'T ERASE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I select it again and IT DOESN'T ERASE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I select it again and IT DOESN'T ERASE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I select it again and IT DOESN'T ERASE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funnier still, if you highlight _more than one_, IT DOESN'T ERASE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your computer skills?

Here's what you need:
http://www.apple.com/ca/imac/

Those are made for people who can't do video, turn things on and plug things in. Since you can't handle "advanced OSes" like Windows, you should try out MacOS X. Their OS even has something similar to public screens. You'll feel right at home.

What? I made a new folder, and explorer.EXE _locked up_ when I tried to rename it. The start menu wouldn't work then, and the claims are win-dross multi-tasks with the help of "memory protection", that's MODERN computing. THIS is "professional grade sellable sw"?

I go to the history area of Internet Explorer, I select "delete" and IT DOES NOT delete selected item, NOR DOES IT SAY WHY it chose NOT to!!!!! I select multiple items, IT DOES NOT DELETE THEM, _even though_ it ALLOWED ME to do so!!!!!! Doesn't say why it didn't delete them! THIS is "professional grade sellable sw"?

IT IS GARBAGE, and people are IDIOTS for continuing to USE IT!

Oh, right, I was supposed to know that to turn off a computer, I'm supposed to go to a right angle triangle that points to the right. Yeah, right.

Why bother? it's a multiuser OS, so nobody's going to see your crotchless panty links anyway.

All together this is only about .04% of the hard drive space on my Mac Pro. Why would I be concerned about that?

This is because web pages are stored on servers you don't control. Just because you have a computer connected to the Internet doesn't mean everything on the Internet belongs to you.

I'm attempting to erase specific browser viewed links in the browser history on what I presume to be "_MY_" computer, not micro_scum_bum_'s.

Not web pages out on the interwebs.

I just emptied the recycle bin in vista, and the icons DID NOT DISAPPEAR!

And I've downloaded ALL the patches etc. to TODAY, Nov. 1, 2009.

The icons stayed visible, so I grabbed a box of 12 files with the mouse, and picked delete, and they still didn't disappear. Tried again with 6 more, nope, nothing, nada.

So I clicked the x in the upper right corner, reopened the Recycle Bin, and guess what, _they were all gone_, disappeared! How about that?

What a cruddy "OS".

Okay, so it's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 2.6 GHz CPU with 3 Gigs, and I must say it performs SADLY!!!!!

vista takes ~2 minutes to finish booting. Can't really tell, the pointer goes into that little circle where the head is chasing it's tail and stops and starts doing this between starting programs.

booting is finished before it's starting programs. you should disable those programs before timing how long it takes to boot.

While I laugh in the face of anyone claiming 'greener computing' in terms of Vista and 7, or indeed energy saving, anyone with some smarts would know that its most likely that Hibernation and Standby are well supported in both.

With quite solid support now, there is no need to go through a long boot up every time you launch the machine. Wise end users will long ago have modified their usage to take advantage of these, and only cretins like Athiest run round in pantomime style outrage.

Vista and 7 both let you do another thing XP does not: modify power settings for individual hardware components with defined schemes.

How utterly incredible. You actually found someone less competent than yourself. That's no small achievement by any measure.
