As long as that Depends is being worn, sure, why not? Go 4 it.

I added each component on the list for the P55 version to a shopping cart on Newegg. Applying a little guesstimation for the miscellany where specific parts weren't mentioned (such as the DVD drive), the total comes to roughly $1000 without a case. Since the price of the whole machine is $2200, we can conclude that they're charging you $1200 for the case, their labor to bolt everything together, and the warranty.

That hideous ugly ginormous chassis of doom is the only thing which is unique. Everything else is ordinary off-the-shelf components. Not all of them are even very good (the video card, for example, is quite mediocre).

Oh, and I guess you'll get to talk to the person who builds your computer. Oooh. So special.

Ugly, overpriced, overhyped. If it was white instead of black it would be a Mac.

I bet the guy who came up with the idea feels good. And his investor will be VERY happy. Oh joy. And they'll think, "I'm helping the world, isn't progress _good_?"

It doesn't run MacOS X legally out of the box, so no, it wouldn't be one. And if it were a Mac, it wouldn't be quite that fugly, and it would have a clear anodized aluminum color, not white or black.
